Our commitment
Dentistry at the Promenade is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as the technical standard for web accessibility, and to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the California Unruh Civil Rights Act.
What we've done
- Semantic HTML and a logical heading structure on every page

- Keyboard navigation for all interactive elements, with visible focus indicators
- "Skip to main content" link as the first element on every page
- Pause control for the autoplaying hero video
- Respect for the
prefers-reduced-motionsetting - Alt text on all meaningful images; decorative images marked appropriately
- Color contrast that meets WCAG AA for body text
- External links open in new tabs with an accessible announcement
- ARIA labels and live regions where dynamic content updates
Known limitations
We are continually working to improve our website. The following areas are known to have limitations we are actively addressing:
- The contact form and appointment booking interfaces are provided by third-party services (Google Forms, Google Calendar, Jotform, MyChart). Their accessibility is managed by those providers. If you experience trouble with these forms, please call us at 619-574-0205 and we'll assist you directly.
- The hero background video is decorative and has no audio. We are working to add a text description of the office environment for screen reader users who would like one.
