Privacy Policy
Effective: May 19, 2026
This policy explains what information our website collects and how it's used. It applies only to the website at missionvalleycosmeticdentist.com. Health information you share during your visit at the dental office is protected separately under the HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices you receive at the office.
Information we collect through this website
- Information you provide — name, email, phone number, and message contents when you fill out our contact form, request an appointment, or send us a message. These forms are powered by third-party services (Google Forms, Jotform, Google Calendar Appointments, and MyChart by MyOryx).
- Usage data — your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and time spent on each page. This information is collected automatically when you visit any website.
- Cookies — small text files stored on your device that help the site function and let us understand traffic patterns.
How we use the information
- To respond to your inquiries and schedule appointments
- To improve our website's content, performance, and accessibility
- To comply with legal obligations
- To protect against fraud or misuse of the site
Sharing your information
We don't sell or rent your personal information. We share information only with:
- Service providers that help us run the website and our practice (analytics, hosting, scheduling software) under confidentiality obligations
- Government authorities when required by law
Third-party services on this site
We deliberately keep our third-party footprint small. The following services help run the website. Each has its own privacy policy that governs how it handles your data:
- Cloudflare Web Analytics — privacy-respecting traffic measurement built into our hosting platform. Does not use cookies, does not store IP addresses, does not identify individual visitors. (Cloudflare Privacy Policy)
- Cloudflare (hosting + CDN) — content delivery, hosting, and bot/DDoS protection. May set a `__cf_bm` cookie classified as strictly necessary.
- Google Forms / Google Calendar Appointments — embedded on our contact and telehealth booking pages. Subject to Google's own privacy practices.
- Jotform — embedded on our in-person appointment request page. (Jotform Privacy Policy)
- MyChart by MyOryx — linked from this site for online patient scheduling and records. Operated by your healthcare provider's portal vendor.
We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, session-replay tools, cross-site advertising trackers, or chat widgets.
Health information (HIPAA)
Health information you provide as part of patient care at our dental office is protected under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). For details on how we use and protect that information, please request our Notice of Privacy Practices at the office or ask any team member.
Please do not send detailed medical or dental history through our website forms. For anything beyond basic contact, call us at 619-574-0205 or use the MyChart patient portal.
Your California rights
California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA), including the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect and how it's used
- Request that we delete personal information we hold about you (subject to legal exceptions, including dental records retention requirements)
- Opt out of any sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information)
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights
To exercise any of these rights, call us at 619-574-0205 or write to us at the address below.
Children's privacy
Our website is not directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this website. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our site, contact us and we'll delete it.
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there's no industry-standard interpretation of this signal, our site does not currently respond differently to it. You can disable cookies and limit analytics through your browser settings.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect information transmitted through our website (TLS/HTTPS encryption, access controls on our hosting and forms providers). No system is completely secure, so we encourage you not to send sensitive medical information through web forms.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top reflects the most recent update. Material changes will be communicated by posting an updated policy here.
